HOW TO USE STRESSBAND
Step 1The stressband has been developed using the latest developments in chromothermic technology developments.
Simply place the stressband on either the left or right wrist; whichever one feels the most comfortable for you.
Stressband has specific chromothermic dyes that react to exact colour temperature changes. Changes in the skin temperature are due to the amount of blood flow present. More blood flow, the skin is warmer and less blood flow, the skin is cooler.
Stressbands are produced from a material that this is extremely sensitive to heat change. This sensitivity to heat flutuations will change the colour of the stressband indictator in response to the skin's temperature.
Lin et al (2011) conducted a clinical trial study to examine the effects of stress and depression on the skin temperature in the form of finger temperature.
Lin discovered that skin temperature was significantly affected by the interaction of stress and depression (finger temperature reduced on the onset of induced stress).
Simply place your index finger on the stressband indicator for 10 seconds; then remove your finger and see what colour the stress indicator is depicting. You can then work out your level of stress.
You can do this during your day so your stress indicator will alter in colour depending upon your stress levels at that particular moment in time.
When someone is tense or stressed their flood flow in their fingers reduces; this is due to the veins restricting in width and diverting blood flow to other parts of the body which are their to help activate the fight or flight response mechanism.
When a person is stressed or under pressure, their blood flow in their finger tips will be restricted - the stressband indicator reacts to this temperature change and will automatically change colour to black or brown.
When a person is in state of relaxation or non stressed their blood supply in the their finger tips increases - this change in temperature and relaxed state will appear green, blue or violet on the stressband indicator.
Stressband is particularly useful in providing continual biofeedback during the day. You can check your stress levels at anytime and take the appropriate action to reduce it.
By reducing your stress levels, you may feel more confident to deal with life's ups and downs. It's important to realise when you are stressed and then take the appropriate positive action to reduce it and deal with it on a personal level. In this way, you stay in control and you know when you need to take a break or do something else to reduce your stress like exercise or enjoying a hobby.
